Meet Arianne! She’s full of energy and very creative! She knew exactly what she wanted at her shoot and made sure to bring some great props that we were able to get some really unique pictures with! Kristen's Senior Session at ECU

I love taking senior portraits! I feel that in these photos not only are we celebrating the person and their achievements but we are also celebrating youth and the life of a young person as they begin their journey in life. Plus, I am a die hard pirate fan (like you didn't already know that!), so any chance I get to celebrate the Pirate Nation with a fellow pirate fan, I am all about it!

Below are some beautiful pictures of a senior session for a beautiful young lady named Kristen. She graduated from ECU this year and was going straight to an internship with REX hospital in Raleigh. We took a lot of photos on this day and there were so many great ones it was so hard to share but I hope you enjoy the ones I picked out for you!

I jump at every chance to take pictures at ECU. The campus is beautiful, the students are awesome, and I am die-hard Pirate fan! This past weekend I had the opportunity to take pictures for a graduating Psychology student, Priya. Priya graduates this semester and will be traveling to Alabama for Graduate school – Exciting!

Melinda's ECU Senior Pictures

Currently, finals are going on right now and in another week students will be graduating! We took Melinda’s pictures 2 weeks ago when the weather was warmer and there were still leaves on the trees. We were able to capture some amazing fall foliage in these pictures and really have a fun day trying different poses and different areas around campus. We took a majority on pictures on ECU’s central campus and before our light went away we went to little Washington to take some beautiful pictures on the waterfront there. It was a busy day but we were able to get a lot of great shots!

Family Session at Greenville Town Commons

Becky and Neil were married at the beginning of this month on June 8^that Ironwood Country Club in Greenville, NC. I think we were all on pins and needles that day since the weatherman was calling for rain. Which is totally a shocker – that’s sarcasm because if you live in Eastern NC then you know we have had nothing but rain lately! I’m pretty sure everyone crossed their fingers and prayed it wouldn’t rain that Saturday. Thankfully it was as if someone was listening because the clouds moved out of the area and the afternoon proved to be gorgeous and absolutely the perfect time to get married! Their ceremony was beautiful, the food was great, the DJ was on point and their reception was filled with smiles and laughter – truly a wonderful wedding! Becky and Neil were such a pleasure to work with and as I edited their pictures I found myself smiling during the editing process because I was able to capture the love these two have for each other!

Who doesn’t remember their senior year in high school?

It is the year that marks your transformation from a teenager into a young adult. It’s a year full of last times, friendships, sports, social events, and of course independence.

A senior class picture preserves the excitement and the memories of your journey and the journey of those around you. This past week, I had the pleasure and the opportunity to photograph Pungo Christian Academy’s 2013 Senior Class. For me, it was a wonderful experience, they were so much fun to be around that I could have taken pictures all afternoon! Keep an eye on this graduating class; I just know they are going to do great things!

Nothing will melt your heart more than pictures of a newborn, especially in cute little bloomers and of course a pink tutu! So be ready to say awe, adorable and she’s just precious. This past weekend I had the pleasure of visiting friends in Durham to photograph their daughter, Sammye Rose. Born on Dec. 5, she is already the best little model out there and sure to be a heartbreaker in years to come! Laurie and Desmond, thank you for allowing me to visit and spend time with little Sammye.

Moody Morning Fog in Eastern North Carolina

If you live in Eastern North Carolina then you know that the last week or so we have had some major fog and some crazy weather! Why was I wearing shorts Monday washing the jeep and today I have on a sweater and 5 pairs of socks? Oh, because I live in North Carolina. How silly of me to forget! Regardless, there has been some awesome fog in the morning and at night. I have been doing my best to capture it through my camera! I love moody photography and what is possibly better then some overcast weather and some thick, like soup, fog hanging on the ground? A majority of these images were taken in the Farmville and Winterville area. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them! Feel free to leave some feedback :)

New Year means New Beginnings!

So today as I worked from home I had the opportunity to sit in on a very awesome live event about restarting you photography business. Very motivational and very inspiring! ECU Graduation - Greenville, NC Photographer

If you were in Greenville, NC this past Friday then you knew something important was happening with the back-to-back traffic and people running around hollering and high-fiving. This past Friday was Fall Graduation for East Carolina University and it couldn’t have been a nicer day. So many student’s with all their friends and loved one’s got to celebrate that they were no longer just college kids but they had officially become college graduates and most importantly ECU Alumni.

I was asked to help one student document her big day with some fun pictures taken around campus to help commemorate her big day. I had a blast working with Kimberly and her family, so much so that time just flew and I just wanted to keep taking pictures. I love when that happens because you really get a chance to capture some special moments. Congratulations Kimberly on your big day! Posted below are some of my favorite pictures taken that day.

Becky and Neil met while attending ECU and what better way to celebrate where they met then to have an engagement shoot on campus! If you’ve ever been to Greenville, NC then you know East Carolina University has a lovely campus and perfect for taking pictures on. Personally, I would even go so far as to say it is one of the best looking campuses on the East Coast, but hey I’m might be biased since I am a die-hard Pirate fan. Even though it was chilly that day, I had a blast working with these two. They are so cute together and they kept me smiling the whole time!

Senior Portraits!

Did you know that the tradition of having senior pictures taken goes back to the 1920s? How wild is that? All seniors, whether they are graduating High School or College, should have senior pictures taken. These pictures document our achievements and are something to look back on in the years to come. What’s even more wonderful about having your senior portrait done today is that you no longer have to go with the boring, same ole head tilt and dull back ground. Today only our imagination sets the limit to what you can have done. I wish I had taken my High School Senior Pictures around the town I graduated in instead of in a studio. I think I would have enjoyed them more and I would have pictures to show people where I was living at the time. What are some of your ideas for senior pictures?

Using gallery wraps to decorate with and show case your family photos!

I’ve been thinking about redoing some of the photos in our house and I thought I would share what I am thinking about doing (Plus I thought everyone might enjoy a little decorating inspiration before the weekend starts). I am thinking about having some of our wedding photos gallery wrapped because well I absolutely love gallery wraps! They are the perfect option to make a bold, modern statement in your house. They also really show case your photos in a beautiful way that makes them just pop off your walls. I really can’t image someone walking past a photo being displayed this way without taking the time to stop and really look at it.

So what is a gallery wrap?

A gallery wrap is when you take a high quality photo and have it printed (by a professional) on an artist’s canvas. The canvas is then stretched over a custom-made wood stretcher bars. You can opt to have the edges of the photo wrapped around the frame or the edge can have a solid color. Of course this style has no need for a frame and already comes with the hooks and wire attached so it is ready to be hung. My favorite is when the edges of the photo are wrapped around the frame but that’s just personal preference!

I feel like Fall is finally here!!!

Is it just me or is the weather in the South finally getting bearable again? I know here in Greenville, NC the humidity has been T-E-R-R-I-B-L-E-! Every time I stepped foot out of the house I had beads of sweat on my forehead. When the weather is like that I think about moving somewhere up north but then I remember the snow… trust me I quickly change my mind at that point!

I recently went to the local pottery store here in town and was in DIY heaven with all the decorations for fall and Halloween wreaths! I searched online for some inspirational photos and I found the wreaths below. What do you think about them? Have you made some pretty awesome wreaths you would like to share? Please post pics if you do!!
